Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1952 and based in Fujigamine, Fujikawaguchiko Town, since 1990. Awarded with the 2010 Artist Award from the Japan Professional Photographers Society.
A photography trip to various parts of Japan that he experienced at the age of 19 started him on the path to becoming a photographer, and from the age of 24, he fell in love with the charm of Mount Fuji and devoted himself to photographing it. Living near the western foot of Mt. Fuji, he has been photographing the iconic mountain and the Sea of Trees with his self-built 8×10 large format film camera. Since 2014, he has been shooting time-lapse videos using a digital camera in order to create 8K Super Hi-Vision imagery.
